Home sales in the Oklahoma City area have started out slower than last year. The average listing is now taking just more than three months to sell. However, it might be worth it to the sellers with property values up 5.2 percent last year.
The median price for 2007 was $129,074, compared to $122,725 in 2006. “We’re doing pretty well. It doesn’t surprise me that it’s up,” said Marolyn Pryor of the Metro Association of Realtors.
Oklahoma City ended January with 8,881 houses for sale. Based on average sales and listings over the past 12 months, that is a 5.6 month supply. The supply peaked last year at 6 months. The 5.6 month supply is nothing to worry about compared to the national inventory supply of about 11 months. |
